About the organiser
RetroGames e.V. was founded in 2002 to preserve and promote the culture of electronic video games in Germany and make it accessible to a wider public.
The museum is located at the Die Kulturdose arts and culture centre in Karlsruhe and is open on Saturdays. Each year the association puts on its own special exhibition — in 2026 titled "Highspeed & Highscore … as the Pixels Learned to Drive", with previous years covering 40 years of Amiga, 40 years of Tetris, and Ralph Baer and Pong.
Members meet on Tuesdays from 19:00. In 2026 the association received state funding to digitise its collection.
