About the organiser
Next Heroes Events is an event agency from Saarland that has been organising community and nerd events since 2017. Behind it stands a three-person organising team, supported by a team of volunteers from the community.
It all began in April 2017 with the Retrobörse Saar (Retro Fair Saar) at the Festhalle Güdingen, a sales fair with around 900 visitors. From this grew the RetroCon Saar, which today takes place at the Hermann-Neuberger-Halle in Völklingen and draws visitors from across Germany and the neighbouring border regions.
Over the years, further concepts were added: the WeihNERDsmarkt in 2021, the Vegan Fantasy Fair in 2023, the REDNERDCON in 2024 and the HiroCon in 2025. The Filmbörse Saar and the Feuerfänger Festival have since been discontinued.
Their own standard: every event should be different, the community should be able to get involved, and the events should remain safe spaces for all visitors.
Timeline
- 2017Erste Retrobörse Saar
Im April 2017 findet in der Festhalle Güdingen die erste Retrobörse Saar statt, eine Verkaufsbörse mit rund 900 Besuchenden. Daraus entwickelt sich die RetroCon Saar.
- 2021WeihNERDsmarkt startet
Der nerdige Weihnachtsmarkt in der Hermann-Neuberger-Halle Völklingen kommt als zweites Eventkonzept dazu.
- 2023Vegan Fantasy Fair
Das vegane Fantasy-Festival im Schlosspark Geislautern wird zum dritten Konzept. Im selben Jahr läuft die Filmbörse Saar aus.
- 2024REDNERDCON
Gemeinsam mit dem Kreativkollektiv Rednerd startet die Convention für Artists, Cosplay und Crafting in der Kulturhalle Völklingen-Wehrden.
- 2025HiroCon
Die Community- und Nerdconvention im E-Werk Saarbrücken ist das fünfte Eventkonzept.
