About the organiser
HomeCon is a retro computing meetup in the Rhine-Main area for home computer and video game fans of all ages. People come with or without their own machines to swap experiences, play on the old hardware, tinker and repair, and simply chat in a relaxed atmosphere.
Most of the regulars first “met” in online forums and community websites, and the calls for a meetup in the Rhine-Main area kept getting louder. The region is said to be open and sociable, yet for a long time no meetup came together. Since April 2009 HomeCon has provided that meetup – free of charge and entirely non-commercial.
The programme: playing on old machines, tinkering with and repairing vintage treasures, a coffee and cake buffet, and tournaments.
Once a year there is RETROLUTION!, a two-day “double HomeCon” with even more programme, activities, talks and workshops. It usually takes place in late August or early September.
