Vintage Computing Festival Berlin (VCFB)

The Vintage Computing Festival Berlin has taken place once a year since 2014, usually on a weekend in October on the Wilhelminenhof campus of HTW Berlin. It showcases historic computing technology: home computers and networking equipment as well as calculators, slide rules and mechanical calculating machines. Most devices are working, and many can be operated by visitors themselves.

The exhibitions bring together collectors and associations from across Germany and beyond, along with talks and workshops. The talks are streamed and later published on media.ccc.de. Recurring features include a Game Room with arcade machines and a C64, an audience award for the most popular exhibit, and a giveaway and swap corner. The special exhibition changes every year; in 2026 it covers 40 years of free software.

The festival is organised entirely by volunteers. Since the end of 2018 it has been run by the non-profit VCFB e.V., which hosts the event with changing partner organisations and is funded through donations and membership fees. Admission is free.
