License

The retrofinder.de dataset — events, venues, organisers, series, dealers, forums and magazines of the retro scene — is licensed under CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). It may be copied, reworked and used in your own applications, including commercially, as long as the source is credited.

Attribution

The attribution reads:

A link to retrofinder.de is enough if a spelled-out license text does not fit.

Excluded: personal contact details

Personal contact details are not covered by this license. That means contact persons with name, email address and phone number — details about individual people. Company and institution addresses (postal address, an organiser's general email address, website) are not affected and remain under the license.

These contact details never appear in the text versions and feeds (.md, /llms-full.txt, /feed.atom) in the first place. In the JSON interface, on the other hand, they do: there we show what the respective organiser or operator has published themselves and released for display. The same response carries the license notice — but it does not apply to these fields.

What that means for you as a reuser: you may not copy the contact-person data under CC BY 4.0, add it to your own dataset, pass it on, use it for advertising or mass mailings, or otherwise process it. It is shown there so that someone wanting to contact a specific event knows who to ask — not as a source of addresses. Leave it out of your copy and you are on the safe side.

Map data

The map data used on retrofinder.de comes from OpenStreetMap and is under its own license (ODbL), not CC BY 4.0. Details on how it is embedded are in the privacy notice.

Postal codes

The "events near me" search looks up postal codes in a table based on data from GeoNames. That data is under CC BY 4.0. The lookup stays on our own server — no third-party service is called.
